Meet Evelyn Ramos, Production Manager, Kids, based in New York City.
A Nervous Interview, A Life-Changing Opportunity
Nineteen years ago, Evelyn was searching for a Product Development opportunity when she landed an interview with Kids Headquarters. She still remembers walking into the building feeling extremely nervous, until the receptionist called her in and she saw Michael DeVito, Executive Vice President of Sales, Kids, walking toward her. They spoke, and to her surprise, he offered her the position on the spot.
That memorable interview marked the beginning of Evelyn's career with the company as a Product Development Coordinator for the Kids Sets division.
A Career That Keeps Evolving
Since then, Evelyn has steadily expanded her experience and responsibilities. Now a manager, she oversees Product Development for Calvin Klein Girls & Boys Sets, Calvin Klein Girl Separates, Guess Boy Sets and Quiksilver Sets.
Her next chapter is already taking shape. Beginning with the Fall 2027 season, Evelyn will take on a new role overseeing Product Development for all Layette Boy & Girl brands, including Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger, Guess, Juicy Couture and Nautica. It's a step she's approaching with excitement and gratitude for the chance to keep growing within the company.
Community in Difficult Times
Of all the moments Evelyn has experienced in her 19 years at Centric, one stands above the rest: the support she received when her mother passed away. Colleagues and friends across the company came together for her and her family during one of the hardest times of her life, reaching out, contributing and simply being present.
“That kindness meant more to me than I can put into words, and it is something I will always carry in my heart.”
The People Behind the Work
Evelyn also counts herself fortunate to work alongside an incredible team. The relationships and friendships she's built over the years are among the things she values most about her career. It's a reminder that the people she's met along the way have shaped her journey just as much as the work itself.
Life Beyond Centric
Outside of work, Evelyn's greatest joy is being a mother of three. Her family comes first, and she dedicates her free time to them, including her husband, who is living with Multiple System Atrophy (MSA). Being there for him and helping care for him is central to her life.
Balancing a career with family and caregiving responsibilities isn't always easy, but Evelyn says it's taught her invaluable lessons in strength, patience, compassion and appreciating every moment.
Looking Ahead
Reflecting on the past 19 years, Evelyn feels nothing but gratitude: for the opportunities, the challenges that helped her grow, the friendships she's made and the people who have supported her along the way.
She's proud of where her journey began, proud of how far she's come and excited to see what the next chapter brings.
