ASSOCIATE SPOTLIGHT SERIES: AN INTERVIEW WITH CAMMY GURAL

In our Associate Spotlight series, we are highlighting associates across the company who are shaping our community and who embody our Life at Centric philosophy every day.

Meet Cammy Gural, Director of Sales Operations, Kids, based in New York City.

A Career Built Step by Step
Cammy’s career at Centric Brands began in 2009 with Kids Headquarters, where she joined the Men’s team managing customer service for the JCPenney business across the Avirex and Zoo York brands. That early role gave her a strong foundation in account management, customer service and the day-to-day mechanics of a national retail business.

From there, she moved into the Order Management group, supporting mid-tier accounts across a wider range of customers and products. It was there that she built expertise in managing purchase orders, coordinating production and deliveries and resolving issues to keep customer expectations on track.

When the Order Management group relocated to Greensboro, Cammy joined Pat Carroll’s (Senior Vice President of Sales, Kids) team, which oversaw both the Club business (Sam’s Club, Costco, etc.) and the Calvin Klein Boys division. The dual exposure proved formative: working the Club business introduced her to nearly every brand within the company, while managing Calvin Klein Boys gave her experience across mid-tier, off-price and department store channels alike.

“Each transition in my career built upon the previous one, expanding both my technical knowledge and my understanding of the apparel business as a whole.”

Rising to the Challenge
One of the most challenging stretches of Cammy’s career came during the COVID-19 pandemic. As part of the Club team, she saw Costco remain one of the few customers to keep operating throughout, which brought stability but also an entirely new set of obstacles: factory shutdowns, limited vessel capacity, reduced warehouse hours and a newly remote team, all at once.

Every shipment demanded constant coordination. Cammy worked closely with the Transportation and Warehouse teams, learning to track vessel bookings through the Maersk system, monitor global shipping locations and coordinate receiving and shipping under tight turnarounds to keep Costco’s requirements met despite the disruption.

Looking back, she considers it one of the most valuable periods of her career, one that reinforced how much departments rely on each other to serve the customer.

A Mentor Who Shaped Her Path
Cammy points to Pat Carroll as an influential figure in her professional development. Pat taught her the Club business from the ground up and, notably, never micromanaged. Instead, she gave Cammy the confidence to make her own decisions and think independently, support that Cammy says shaped her growth both professionally and personally.

Working under Pat also meant collaborating with nearly every department at Centric, relationships that broadened Cammy’s understanding of the business and sharpened her instincts as a problem solver. Her original colleagues from the Order Management team have played a similar role over the years, building a network built on trust and a willingness to share knowledge, professionally and personally.

For Cammy, that support system is part of what makes the Kids division feel less like a workplace and more like family.

Beyond the Office
Outside of work, Cammy’s proudest accomplishment is her family, having a standing Sunday dinner tradition, often trying new recipes together.

Cammy is also an avid traveler, with her daughter as her favorite travel partner. Together they’ve explored Thailand, attended a music festival in Portugal, traveled through parts of Europe and visited destinations across Central America, with a new adventure always in the planning stages.
